Certified translations for individuals and businesses

Bureaucracy in Germany can feel challenging. Although the content of a university certificate in English may seem similar its translation into German, a public authority, bank, or employer may still need the translation certified.
Translations can only be certified by translators who have been sworn by a court. Translators wishing to be sworn by the court need to demonstrate a state approved qualification as well as passing stringent background checks. Sworn status provides you with quality assurance, because it shows that the translator is a professional, not someone who only learned the other language during a year abroad.
After being awarded my Master of Arts in Translation, I underwent the background checks and was sworn by the Landgericht Saarbrücken in 2022.
Since then I have translated certificates from all over the world into German and many German certificates into English.

Following a bilingual and bicultural upbringing, I completed my Master of Arts in Translation. After rigorous integrity checks, I was sworn in at the Landgericht des Saarlandes and am now included in the list of translators who can provide sworn translations accepted by German authorities.

Each certified translation carries my official sworn-translator stamp.
Translators are sworn by a state court in the state in which they live. The court needs to be satisfied that the translator has sufficient competence and integrity. The title of the sworn status varies from state to state (vereidigt, allgemein beeidigt, ermächtigt), however, all refer to the same status. The status is accepted throughout the country, not just in the state where the translator was sworn.
