About me
Natasha Higman
MA · MBA · FCCA · ACIL

I started my freelance business as a translator in 2020. I translated informally during most of my childhood growing up in Germany with British parents. I went to school in Germany until the age of 16. I then moved to the UK for the last years of school and completed my training to be a Chartered Certified Accountant.
In my career in Financial Services, I worked in the UK and German-speaking countries across Europe. I have also spent time in India, South Africa and the US.
Following the decision to move to the Saarland in 2019, I started studying for my Master of Arts in Translation Studies at the Open University. I was awarded my degree with merit in March 2022. Following rigorous integrity and competence checks, I was sworn in by one of the judges at the Landgericht des Saarlandes the following September. I am now included in the list of translators who can provide sworn translations accepted by German authorities.
I am an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and Member of the ADÜ Nord – Assoziierte Dolmetscher und Übersetzer in Norddeutschland e.V. My profile can be found in either database following a quick search.
This is my entry in the Justizdolmetscher Datenbank, the public database of language professionals sworn by their state courts.
Long before wrangling with words became my profession, I was writing tales of my travels on travel-tales.org.
